U.S Health officials move up covid-19 booster shots timeline by 5 months instead of 8
President Biden announced that U.S. regulators are looking at giving Covid-19 booster shots to the public just five months after people finish receiving their first primary immunizations, which is a lot sooner then the original time line for a third shot by about three whole months.
Biden, who spoke with Naftali Bennett, The Prime Minister of Israel on Friday, said health officials were thinking of following Israel’s lead with covid vaccine booster shots.
“We’re considering the advice you’ve given that we should start earlier,” Biden said, adding that officials are debating whether the timeline should be shorter. “Should it be as little as five months and that’s being discussed.”
Approval for the booster shots should come hopefully sometime around Labor Day, after federal health officials have time to review and analyze the data from other countries and vaccine manufacturers (possible buying opportunity in vaccine stocks)
Distribution of the booster shots following FDA clearance and CDC recommendation is expected to begin on September 20 let’s just hope they aren’t as clueless as our friends at the WHO. The Biden administration and vaccine manufacturers have hinted that there should be enough doses for any fully vaccinated adult seeking a third dose. This booster shot could mean a new scale up for pharmaceutical companies like
Pfizer,AstraZeneca and many more or if the boosters are ineffective in keeping the virus at bay it could mean a bearish trend for them until the issue is resolved but we won’t know until the booster shots become available to the public.
